Philosophy of Sharpness and Bluntness
Military District Command 0411/KM
Who would have thought that the act of caring and kindness carried out by a member of the 113th TMMD Task Force at Kodim 0411/KM resulted in the wisdom of gaining knowledge that has deep meaning. This happened when Praka M. Nirwansyah helped an elderly couple a.n. Mbah Marsam (86 years old) and his wife Mbah Poniyem (80 years old) sharpen a sickle in Bina Karya Buana Village, Rumbia District, Central Lampung Regency. Monday (23/05/22)
While sharpening the old sickle which became the main tool for Marsam in his activities of looking for grass for fodder, Praka M. Nirwansyah got the knowledge that had been stored neatly in this simple old figure.
"Mr. Soldier, there is a saying that says: Elephants die leaving tusks, Tigers die leaving stripes. The lesson we can take from this saying is how good it is before we leave this mortal world, let each of us try hard to be able to leave traces. real contribution in accordance with their respective fields of competence,' said Marsam while looking at Praka M. Nirwansyah who was sharpening his sickle.
"On the other hand, we also realize that time is like flying past us. Without realizing it, day after day, week after week, month after month and even year after year have passed. none or too little of it has been used to carve out real relics before the age allotted to us reaches its final limit," he continued.
"It has become a common understanding that each person has superior competence and one person with another is not necessarily the same superior competence. sharp will certainly be used," he added.
"With that sharp edge we can cut, slice and slash as we wish. If done correctly, the results of cuts, slashes and slashes can certainly produce what we want. On the other hand, if we use the blunt side, the results are predictable. , of course not optimal because the blunt side is not for slicing, cutting and slashing," he continued.
"For people who are gifted with reason and mind, it is a must for the owner of the sickle to keep sharpening the sharp side so that it continues to be useful. If we sharpen it regularly, day after day it will become sharper. because it is a strength so that the sickle does not become thin and easily broken, the blunt part is essentially a shield to maintain the thickness of the sickle," Marsam continued to explain the philosophy of sharpening sickles.
"The sharp side is our ability, take advantage of it, and the blunt side is our lack of self, so make it our nature to always introspect ourselves, blunt which means that this lack of self is actually a protector of the sharp side so that it is not easily broken, in other words many of us who are complacent with sharpness so that they become arrogant and in the end lead to death and loss," he concluded..(DL)
