Dandim 0411/KM Concern for Veterans of Freedom Fighters

Commander of Kodim 0411/KM Lt. Col. Inf Sihono, A.Md. accompanied by Danramil 411-11/TB Captain Inf Gunawan, Head of Terusan Sub-district, Nunyai Effendi Arbain, S.E., M.M. and Kakam Bandar Sakti Darno along with Village Officials visited the residence of Mr. Ahmat who is a member of the Veterans of the Indonesian Army at Transad Kampung Bandar Sakti Dusun Bumi Asri RT 06, Terusan Nunyai District, Central Lampung Regency, Friday (23/12/22)

During the gathering, apart from mbah Ahmat, one of the veterans in arms, a.n. mbah Sabar, son of mbah Ahmat a.n. Ali, Babinsa Koramil 411-11/TB and Big Exit FKPPI Bandar Sakti.

On the first occasion, the Dandim 0411/KM listened to the history of the struggle of the two veterans who were serving under the auspices of the VII/Diponegoro Kodam at that time. Bhakan, the two veterans enthusiastically recounted the struggle in escorting TNI General Soedirman during the guerrillas, one of the veterans had told the ups and downs story of carrying the general's stretcher.

Seeing the condition of the house which was considered unfit for habitation, Dandim 0411/KM immediately summoned Danramil 11 and immediately planned to carry out house renovations. "He is a freedom fighter, he should feel the fruit of his struggle. We, from Kodim 0411/KM, will immediately renovate his house to make it more habitable," said the Dandim.

"To the Danramil 11, immediately plan to renovate his house in the near future, and to the sub-district head as well as the village head and all the residents, we urge all of us to participate in the renovating activities later," he appealed.

The Dandim did not forget to add, "Today we all enjoy an independent atmosphere, enjoy all the conveniences, both a sense of security in carrying out education, ease in transportation, enjoying electronic developments and others, we can feel all of this because one of them is the fruit of the sacrifice of the fighters now we should be proud to have two veteran fighters in our village, for that where is our face when we see them still living in houses that are less than adequate, even though they have planted the seeds of struggle in seizing independence," he concluded.

Not only talking, after the visit, the Dandim immediately provided assistance to mbah Ahmat in the form of food packages and 10 pieces of cement as a proof of his intention to repair his house.

Furthermore, the Dandim also gave a gift to Mbah Sabar in the form of a basic food package as a sign of the beginning of friendship.

Before leaving mbah Ahmat's residence, Danramil 411-11/TB representing Forkopimcam Bandar Sakti as well as village officials and residents reported that mbah Ahmat's residence would be renovated on December 29, 2022. (DL)
